Mojito

The classic mojito is a well-known and beloved cocktail, which is widely regarded as one of the all-time greats. A good mojito is fairly easy to create. A great mojito on the other hand, requires the perfect rum. A rum that is not forgotten in the cocktail but is also not overpowering and too alcohol forward. Davidsen’s Silver Rum is just that. A smooth silver rum that will add the desired depth and flavour to your mojito, while not stealing the spotlight of the fresh lime and mint. Our recipe for a perfect mojito is as follows:

How to make

  1. Muddle the lime pieces, mint leaves, and simple syrup in the glass
  2. Fill the glass with crushed ice, and add the Davidsen’s Silver Rum
  3. Stir well to incorporate the ingredients
  4. Fill the glass all the way up with crushed ice
  5. Top with club soda

Make sure you get most of the juice out of the lime pieces but be careful not to tear the mint leaves apart, avoid turning the muddler, as this will give the cocktail an undesired vegetal taste. Make sure you get the lime pieces and mint leaves mixed in with the rum, this is easily done by moving the spoon up and down in the glass to mix everything. Putting in more ice than the glass can take makes it look extra delicious. You should not have to use more than 2 cl. of club soda. If you do, your glass may be too big. Many people will want to use a straw for their mojito, however we like to drink our mojito without, as this provides the best and most complete experience as you get the aromas of the cocktail and especially the fresh mint bush in the top of the cocktail. Deliciously refreshing.
