Dry Martini

This cocktail is an absolute classic. Opinions about it seem to differ, as many people will think it is too spirit forward. And it is indeed a spirit forward drink that you might consider to be an acquired taste. This is for the true gin lovers who just want to enjoy their favourite gin with a small twist. It is no secret that we love this cocktail, but it is not an easy drinker. However, you do not want to let it sit in the glass for too long, as a Dry Martini is much better when it is ice cold.  Our recipe for the perfect Dry Martini is as follows:

Ingredients

Garnish:

  • Olive and/or lemon zest

How to make

  1. Stir all ingredients over plenty of ice
  2. Strain to coupe/martini glass without ice

This cocktail has all the juniper and orange notes you could ever want in a Dry Martini. The ·O·D·D· Gin Original Dry is a clean and crisp gin with the classic emphasis on juniper and citrus, which is more or less the perfect match for a Dry Martini. The slight acidity of the dry vermouth gives it an extra edge that is just delightful. We highly recommend serving this drink in a chilled glass to keep it cold for just a bit longer. Depending on your preference, you can use either an olive or two as garnish or a lemon zest. We like to use a single olive while zesting the lemon over then glass and the discarding it. This gives us a tasty treat at the end and really aromatizes the drink to make it irresistible.
